How long should a Promise be good for?
Is there a time frame some promises can be revoked with out harm? Or are they to be held up for life?
I hate it when i break a promise, but usally it is becasue I forgot I made it.

Well I think that would be a situation where you could break your promise.
Was a pony promised to you, are you waiting for a pony to show up at christmas?
I think that there is definately a lifespan for promises but it's not up until neither party really cares anymore if it's kept or not.
Of course, sometimes you break a promise for their own good. In that case it's often acceptable.
